While safety should always be one of the core focuses of businesses, since the onset of the Covid pandemic an even greater focus has been placed on keeping employees healthy and safe in the work environment. Join Cape Cod Human Resources for a content rich, interactive discussion on safety in the workplace and what it means for your organization. The discussion will focus on best practices and policies for managing safety including COVID – 19 and vaccinations.
To present on this critical and complex topic, Marina Brock, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist for the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment will speak on the topic of safety, being joined by of Julyane Lazar, Attorney with Foley and Foley, PC, who will discuss legal compliance, exposure, risks and how to manage these factors.
Speaker Biographies:
Julayne Lazar, Attorney, Foley & Foley, PC -
Julayne has focused her over twenty year legal career exclusively on employment and labor law, and leads the firm’s Administrative Agency and OSHA practice. Julayne has worked at several of the agencies she practices before today including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Department of Unemployment Assistance. In addition, Julayne has served as both in-house employment counsel to a complex medical corporation and been a litigator with a private firm in Boston. Julayne uses this multifaceted experience to help employers remain in compliance with state and federal laws, and provides sound proactive advice utilizing human resources best practices.
Marina Brock, Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist with Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment -
Marina Brock received a B.A. in Environmental Economics from Simmons University, an M.S. in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering with Emergency Management from Columbia Southern University. Ms. Brock is a Ph.D. candidate in Emergency Management and Protective Services at Capitol Technology University. Ms. Brock has worked as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist for the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment, a regional governmental agency on Cape Cod. Her areas of expertise are in EHS, Public Health, Environmental Science, Emergency Management, and worker safety. Ms. Brock assists multiple public sector facilities in these areas through the conducting of EHS assessments, training, compliance assistance, and facilitating the development of functional safety management systems.
